Our local town historian will do a program highlighting an aspect of Bethlehem’s years gone by.

May Bus Trip: Historic Homes in Stockbridge and Lenox MA (date to be determined)
We will tour Chesterwood, studio and home of American sculptor Daniel French, and Ventfort Hall, a Jacobean Revival style mansion of the Gilded Age. We will plan to have lunch at the Red Lion Inn. Complete details will be available closer to the event.

Now that museums are starting to open their doors, here are two exhibits that our members may enjoy exploring in person at their own convenience .

The Albany Institute presents: Romancing the Rails: Train Travel in the 1920s and 1930s
On display June 12, 2021—February 2022

Romancing the Rails features objects and library materials from the Albany Institute’s railroad collections, including rare photographs, posters, locomotive models, and objects designed for New York Central’s 20th Century Limited railroad that debuted in 1938 and ran from New York City to Chicago in sixteen hours.

University Art Museum presents: Well/Being: An Exhibition on Healing and Repair
On view August 4—December 11, 2021

The University Art Museum is pleased to present this exhibit featuring artwork that addresses the complexities of daily life during this pandemic era. Twelve established and emerging artists and musicians present multi-disciplinary approaches to pandemic-related issues such as kinship, chronic illness, convalescence, intimacy, the emotional costs of caregiving, and various incarnations of love and community.
